HAPPY NEW YEAR! What are you doing to improve your life this year?
My personal goal for this year is to improve my focus. I tend to be distracted by things going on around me, and I start more tasks than I finish. I've been reflecting on the fact that I have become less structured in my personal life, and I need to take steps to reverse that trend. Then I will have more time to do for others, as well.
Welcome to JoAnn's Words
I am so glad you are here. Please let me know what's on your mind and what brought you to this page. My purpose here is to continue posting a variety of writings--articles, creative pieces, and random thoughts. My primary focus is to educate by sharing what I know to be true, what I am thinking about, or suggestions for us all to consider in the way we relate to others. I truly welcome feedback. I cannot learn anything if I do not listen or observe. I have one simple request: I ask that all language be G-rated, because there is always a polite word available with which we can express ourselves. A better quality of life begins with a better quality self.
I am a teacher and writer with varied interests and a wealth of unique life experiences that have molded me. My father died when I was eight years old, and my stepfather was a farmworker. My mother did not work outside the home. My parents always stressed the importance of education as a way to a better quality of life. I have experienced life in Delano during the Grape Strike of the 60's and stumbled into many interesting and skillbuilding jobs throughout the years. I am still in search of a better quality of life for all. Through understanding and sharing knowledge, I want to do my part to make a positive difference in the world from my little corner of it.
